Introducing Pacesetter Edition.
Let Diamond C take the guesswork out of your trailer-buying experience with the Diamond C Pacesetter Edition package, a tailored group of options at an unprecedented value. The name Pacesetter derives from the Diamond C trailers of the early 90s, named for being the first of its kind to offer a differentiation of innovative features that set the pace for the trailer industry. Curated by industry experts with the DC customer in mind, the Pacesetter Edition is based on valuable research of our buyers’ preferences for trailer options. We are confident the Pacesetter Edition will create a more seamless user experience for you, our customer.
PLEASE NOTE: The Pacesetter Edition options are not customizable, but customers can add additional options to the ones included in the package. The option to build a trailer out from scratch is still available outside of the Pacesetter Edition.
The Pacesetter Edition
Pacesetter noun. a person or organization viewed as taking the lead or setting standards of achievement for others.
(Oxford Languages)
When it was time to decide on a name for this new option package, we looked to the past to reflect on the bold steps Diamond C took in the early 90s when founder, Mike Crabb, launched the ‘Pacesetter Trailer Series’ which boasted standard features no other manufacturers were using at that time. This was a pivotal moment for Diamond C, as it marked the start of its journey to becoming the industry leader in innovation. The name Pacesetter still reigns true, as our commitment to differentiation is as important today as it was in the 90s.
Diamond C’s Commitment To Innovation Over The Years
Since the establishment of Diamond C Trailers in 1985, we have always looked for a better way to improve the industry standard. Whether it’s a small trailer design or building a whole new concept from scratch, we always approach a new project with our mantra, “How can we make it stronger, lighter, look better, and ultimately deliver more value and use to our customers?” We are committed to creating trailers that stand out from the crowd and above the competition through intelligent and innovative design. We pride ourselves on being the leader in innovation that sets the pace for excellence in the trailer industry.
Low Profile Dump Trailer (2008)
At Diamond C, we are relentless about progress. We constantly push the limits of what we believe is capable in trailer design and manufacturing. One of our proudest innovations and contributions to the trailer industry is our low-profile dump trailer design, seen today in our flagship LPT model, which we developed in 2008.
This design change allowed us to keep the dump body much closer to the ground than the previous standard in the trailer industry. The average dump body height in the early 2000s was about 32″ off the ground, which created a poor user experience. Before, it was hard to dump materials and debris over the side of the trailer and load equipment on the rear ramps due to the height and the steep approach angle. Our low-profile dump design is now an industry standard and has improved the overall user ergonomics and safety.
Engineered Beam Technology (2017)
In 2015, we had been building gooseneck trailers like the rest of the industry for the past 30 years. We started studying the strength dynamics of I-Beams and quickly turned to flatbed semi-trailers for inspiration. The people creating semi-trailers realized long ago that standard beams were not the best solution for the strongest and lightest trailer frames. They needed taller beams considering the span of the frame without the excess weight that comes with taller standard beams. These same principles applied to gooseneck trailer framing, so we designed, engineered, and built our own I-beams.
After nearly three years of research and development, the Fleetneck Engineered Beam product line was the result. We proudly debuted the new Engineered Beam goosenecks at the 2017 NATDA Trade Show and took the flatbed gooseneck trailer world by surprise. In 2019 we were awarded a U.S. Patent for our efforts, and in 2022, we launched the newest 2.0 version of this technology, which includes significant improvements to the frame and the neck. Our beams are the tallest and strongest in gooseneck trailers, with the best strength-to-weight ratios on the road.
Fast forward to today, and we are now bringing the technology behind the Engineered Beam design to the rest of our product lineup, including our top Dump, Equipment, and Car Hauler models. Diamond C has always been a pioneer in trailer innovation and a leader in pushing the industry forward, and our beam design is no exception.
DM Powder Coating System (2019)
While most trailer manufacturers choose powder coat and finish processes based solely on their material and operating costs, we designed the Difference Maker Powder Coating System to produce extraordinary trailer finishes. The mantra is simple: Improve everything. Sacrifice nothing. Our top priorities are Adhesion, Corrosion resistance, Chip & abrasion resistance, Gloss & color retention, and Curb appeal. We’ve spared no effort or expense to ensure every Diamond C trailer has an exceptionally durable and beautiful finish.
We’ve partnered with Sherwin Williams to bring more enhanced color options and are proud to offer multiple standard & special colors to choose from. View our comprehensive COLOR GUIDE to see our standard and custom colors up close.
